Each sport asks something different of you. Choose by what you want from the hour.
In a sport the workout has a goal: return the ball, reach the top of the wall, hold the pace. If you are looking for a sport to take up in Ulaanbaatar, start with one you would enjoy even on a tired day. This page covers three you can do indoors all year, what to bring, what a first session is like, and how to book with a Wellzo membership.
A coached session on a court, alone or in a small group.
A beginner starts with the grip and the basic strokes before playing points. Ask whether the place lends a racket for a first session.
You climb marked routes on a wall, each one a small puzzle.
Routes are graded, so a first-timer and a regular climb side by side. Low walls have thick mats. Tall walls use a rope and a harness, and you are shown how before you climb.
A group class on stationary bikes, ridden to music with a teacher.
You set the resistance on your own bike, so the class is as hard as you make it. It is hard cardio and easy on the joints.

Nobody expects you to know the rules on day one.
Clothes you can move in, clean indoor sports shoes, water and a small towel. Rackets, climbing shoes and cycling shoes can often be borrowed or rented, so ask before you buy anything.
Arrive 10 minutes early and tell the coach it is your first time. They can help set up your bike, fit your harness or show you the grip. Warm up before you go hard.
Most sessions run 45 to 60 minutes. Rest when you need to and drink water. Sore forearms the day after climbing, or sore legs the day after cycling, are normal. Sharp pain means stop.
