Most places mix the three below. What differs is where the floor space goes.
A gym can mean a hall of machines, a floor of free weights or a timetable of group classes. If you are choosing a fitness club in Ulaanbaatar, start with how you like to train. This page covers the kinds of fitness club, what to bring, what a first visit is like, and how to book with a Wellzo membership.
Machines, dumbbells and barbells.
Machines guide the movement, so they suit a beginner. Free weights ask more of your balance and form.
A teacher leads the room through a set workout, such as circuits or strength with a barbell.
The timetable sets the pace, which helps if you struggle to start alone.
Treadmills, bikes, rowers and open floor for bodyweight work.
This builds stamina and is easy to do at your own level.

Nobody expects you to know the equipment on day one.
Clean indoor trainers, clothes you can move in, a bottle of water and a small towel. Many gyms ask for a towel on the machines. Ask the club whether it has lockers and whether you need your own lock.
Tell the staff or trainer it is your first time and mention any injury. Spend 5 to 10 minutes warming up, and start lighter than you think you need.
A first session of 45 to 60 minutes is plenty. Wipe the equipment after use, put weights back, and ask if you are unsure how a machine works. Sharp pain means stop.

No, but a group class or a short session with a trainer is a good way to learn the basics. Ask the club what it offers.
Two or three sessions a week with a rest day between them is enough to start. Add more once the routine feels easy.
